This is the autonomous kayak in Singapore that will be instrumented with pressure sensors similar to Big Red.

Experiments to conduct, summer

  • Purpose
    • Detection of flow separation at bow
    • Detection of helical vortex
    • Drag reduction during maneuvers
    • Characterization of pressure field in real operating conditions
    • Detection of helical vortex
      • less important
    • Drag reduction during maneuvers
    • Characterization of pressure field in real operating conditions
  • Experiments to perform
    • Circular maneuver in still water
      • characterize pressure change across the bow for manevers at different speeds and circle radii
      • could be done in Pandan Reservoir
