I wonder if there's a way to tell people how to use CTRL-click (or other methods) to get the various links to open up as separate pages. If I didn't know that, I would have found it really frustrating to have the new pages nearly always open in the same window, requiring me to keep hitting the back button to avoid getting lost. Or maybe change the links so they open in a new window as the default? At least for the "See the Sites" links.

I'm not sure I like the "Your" in front of the three section headings. "Your MIT", in particular, just seems weird to me. Why not just "About MIT", "Checklists", and "Benefits"?

On the Benefits Overview slide show, it was a little disconcerting to be bumped along through the slides automatically, rather than having to click Next when I was ready. This was especially true when there were links that I wanted to look at. Didn't like having to pause the slide show to prevent it from continuing on without me.

I thought you should have a few more slides on the retirement plans---these are both very good benefits and I thought they are so brief one almost missed them:
ie on the 401(k) we should do a little more to encourage/sell enrollment
New ee's are intimidated by the investment choices therefore we need to let them know investments can be changed anytime
To be consistent let them know there is immediate vesting---tell them in the script that it means they get to keep everything.
If you agree that these slides should be meatier, let me know and I will be happy to give you a first draft.

The Professional Development should link to Employee Self-Service [http://web.mit.edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/sapwebss/PS1/home.shtml] with a 2-3 sentence description - not focused on the department offering the training but rather on what the training is. Refer to the ESS Training tab for more information. With the Training Alignment Team, we're trying to coordinate training around the need rather than which department "owns: a particular class. In general, the tone of the Growing & Learning page is friendly. Ask Jane White to review the Growing & Learning Page. Slides - Eligibility
Throughout the presentation the %time and duration eligibility requirements are represented in a new way:
"Your position requires that you work a minimum of half time for at least three months"
I think this is very misleading, because these are two separate requirements, if you are less than 50% time (with the exception of grandfathered medical doctors), you are ineligible, regardless of the duration of your appointment and if your appointment duration is less than three months, you are ineligible regardless of your %time. Another eligibility issue - employees must have a 12 month appointment to be eligible for Tuition Assistance.
Discuss
MM
Yes. We will address this by copying text from the HR Benefits eligibility page, and adding links to all of the eligibility slides. The link text will be "Are you eligible?" and the target is the HR Benefits eligibility page.

Slides - Tuition Assistance
Also, unless I missed it I do not see a reference to MIT Special Student courses in the Tuition Assistance section - eligible employees can take one class per term if they are admitted as a special student. I also think the when the script says "you" are can take classes; we need to be careful that it is clear that it is an eligible "you". Also, I did not see Tuition Assistance listed in the outline.
Overall, I think the site does not stress benefits eligibility enough. The hundreds of employees and affiliated persons associated with the Institute who are not benefits eligible, or who are eligible for some subset of Institute benefits, will have access to this information, and many will not be eligible for the benefits explained here. From the way it is presented they might think they are.
Discuss
MM
Yes. This will be addressed by changing slide 57's overview title to "Eaducation/Tuition Assistance".
