Scenario

Robert Barathian, working father of three, is trying to get his children to do chores reliably.

Robert has decided to divvy up maintenance of the castle among his three children Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen. Robert decides that the child that has performed all the tasks he requests of them will inherit the Iron Throne. Cersei, Robert's wife, believes rewarding behavior that's expected is the wrong way to approach the problem; she'd much rather see her kids find value in improving the home they live in.

Joffrey, being the eldest son, believes he is being given too many vassals to placate compared to his little brother. Myrcella feels that her brothers ought to clear the dinner table every so often, or at least acknowledge the work that she does.

Robert decides to use the Household Dashboard to see to it all the kingdomly tasks get completed.

  1. Hi guys,

Thanks for all of your hard work on GR2! Below are my notes from grading feedback. Grades should be up soon.

Scenario: Your scenario coveres a lot of interesting bits of the situation, including the emotions people in the situation might have, but I would have loved to see it include specific tasks, too. Remember that this is what you'll be giving to people who test your prototype – you'll want it to have some concrete actionable things for them to do.
Preliminary designs: Nice job, but your usability analyses don't seem particularly insightful. Think a bit more deeply about things when you're working with the paper prototypes.

A few things to note going forward, for all of the groups:
    - Try to make sure your wiki is organized. Don't be afraid to create a table of contents, for instance.
    - You may want to refine your scenario for GR3. Note that you're going to be using your scenario to brief your users, so you may want to make it a bit more task-oriented.
    - Login and basic account creation are not a good use of your time for prototyping, unless you're planning on doing something really interesting with it. You can assume that basic signup flows work fine.

Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions.
