The Bernard M. Gordon-MIT Engineering Leadership Program ("GEL") is an undergraduate program in the School of Engineering designed to educate and develop the character of outstanding MIT students as potential future leaders in the world of engineering practice and development, and to endeavor to transform engineering leadership in the nation, thereby significantly increasing its product development capability.

A highly selective program for MIT engineering students, GEL responds to a national need to develop selected students into leading technical endeavors. For these few students, GEL is an intensely personalized leadership development program featuring a high degree of interaction with industry leaders, faculty and fellow students. For other MIT Juniors and Seniors interested in honing their engineering leadership skills, the Engineering Leadership Practice Opportunities Program (ELPOP) track offers similar academic subjects and practical experiences.

Using project-based learning, leadership labs, and hands-on product development exercises, the Gordon-MIT Engineering Leadership Program is helping to build tomorrow's engineering leaders.
