There is a known issue with SAPGUI for Mac and when a user tries to quit it looks like it wants to but then it stays around. Then when the user tries to shutdown the Mac it says that SAPGui prevented the Mac from shutting down. We have seen this issue for some Mac users running SAPGui 7.2 in Mac OS 10.8 and 10.9.

What needs to be done to fix the problem:

  • Uninstall SAPGui 7.2
  1. Move Applications -> SAP to Trash
  2. Move the following directory to the Trash: Macintosh HD -> Library -> Preferences -> SAP
  3. On the menu bar, at the top, select Go to reveal the drop-down menu and then hold down the Option key (marked ALT) and you will see the ~/Library folder appear. You may now select this ~/Library folder with your mouse or trackpad.
  4. Move the following directory to the Trash: Userhome -> Library -> Preferences -> SAP
  • Please note when using SAPGui 7.3 there are some known issues for 10.7 and 10.8.
  • No labels
