Tentative agenda:
  • Review of initiatives that are moving forward
  • Review of initiative still in formulation
  • How should we move forward on developing the larger initiatives?
Notes

While lunching we talked about why audioconferencing into remote meetins wasn't done more at MIT; it would be interesting if people started joining Academic Coucil remotely. There are some "power" (control) issues about requiring people to attend in person, not sending out meeting notes in a timely way - if you can't come to the meeting you get left out - or a lesser experience.

Dennis gave an overview of some of the projects that are moving forward and others that are in the "formulative" stage - see attached PowerPoint slides.

We should look for high-payoff areas.

Cornell has done experiments with TA blogs.

Larger initiatives.

...

Jerry joined via audio from home - sound quality was so-so on our end - we should try an IP to IP call next time. Jerry complained that he got an echo when we turned up the volume on our side.
