Virtual Machine Maintenance Agreements

The value of the Student, Administrative Staff and Base VM is quickly lost if they are not maintained.  Going forward we have reached agreement that we will release updated versions of each VM twice a year in coordination with the Academic Calendar.

Here is who will do the work on the various VMs:

VM Maintenance Plan:

• All 3 images to be updated at the beginning of each semester.
• The base image should be updated first, then the student and admin staff image will be (re)built from the base image or if changes to the base are minor, those changes incorporated into the admin staff and student versions

Updates will include:

• Windows updates
• Update to VirusScan DAT
• Updated versions of all installed software

These commitments were agreed to by Anne Silvester, Oliver Thomas and Blake Skinner in February 2011.
