Responsible Engineers: Jorian, Alex, Tamara, Berkin, Xander
Assignments Week 2:
- HEI CAD - Xander, Alex
Assignments Week 1:
- Alex - preliminary design HEI test stand
- Berkin -
- Jorian -
- Tamara -
HEI Designs choices to still think about after CoDR
- case calcs
- bolt calcs
- angled nozzle?
HEI Goals/Changes:
- HEI for booster and sustainer??
- good seal
- able to be integrated separately and slapped on at the end
- liner no crack plz
- improve the actual integration of the HEI
- low-oxygen grain that will fit the new diameter (blue thunder works up to 3")
- MAKE A TEST STAND PLEASE
- HYDROSTATIC TEST WITH HEI
HEI Test Stand
- hold in place
- explode upwards
- bench vise
- steel/aluminum plate
HEI designs:
- 75mm liner and blue thunder propellant
- 1.5s burn time for grain (ID?)
HEI seal ideas
- old: phenolic at nozzle and aluminum interface
- o-ring on the inner side of the aluminum tube (inner groove tool needed)
Separate integration
- forward closure that you can remove
- HEI in two parts
- nozzle included in lower part so the propellant is sealed
HEI integration
- thicker liner
Hydrostatic test
- HEI hydrostatic
- main motor hydrostatic fire with modified HEI on top
- machine everything out of aluminum
