Consider an Athena Virtual Image pre-packaged thing.
(Would require additional documentation on setup under Bridged networking.)

Regarding Phase II, I'd like us to provide a basic 32 bit XP image
that has all the current OS patches, DAT files, and recommended
settings applied. Without additional staffing, I'd say we could
update this image twice a year, once for fall and once for winter
semesters. This image would meet the needs of most of our users,
without putting us in the business of creating and maintaining
multiple VM's. With dedicated staff, we could offer more OS's, and
include more software.

Reading over some of our licensing concerns, and thinking about phase
II, I'd also like to suggest that explore some concurrent licensing
solutions. This would allow us to deploy licensed software, i.e.
Adobe Acrobat, to everyone without violating our license. The same
solution could also be used on native OS's to address some licensing
concerns people are running into.
