TUG-O-WAR
Purpose: Strength
Objective: To exert a force greater than the competition and pull them a set distance
Directions:
One team member may place their robots at opposite ends of the arena
One team member is allowed to connect the rope to their bots
Teams cannot touch, alter, or any other matters (penalty 3 inch advantage given to other team). They have two minutes to set up.
Judges will make final positioning and adjustments
Bots will begin the competition with the start of a whistle
No individual points given - only outcomes are win, lose, or tie.
A tie occurs if at one minute, there is not a winner.
In the event of a tie - ???
A winner will be declared the ribbon on the rope is pulled across the 24 inch line on their side
Details:
The match-ups will be set by a tournament style, single elimination, bracket with match-ups being randomly selected.
If a robot goes out of the arena - the bots will be reset and a penalty assessed for the bot out of bounds (penalty: 3 inch advantage given to other team)
If a team fails to hold on to the rope, a penalty will be assessed (6 inch penalty). Failure to hold on to the rope two times in the same match results in a forfeit.
