Calendar

Quarterly Report submissions are due to the VP's office somewhere around 10 to 14 days into the month, depending on when Friday falls.

Here's the timeline for April 2008, the FY2008 Q3 report.  Email from dhughes@mit.edu on 3/26/2008 announced the report submissions due to the VP's office on April 11.  There's a production cycle within the Directorate, assembling and wordsmithing the individual team submissions.  Allowing lead time for that and for the inevitable slack of people submitting late, The CSS due date is end-of-business on the Tuesday before the VP Friday.  This year for CSS, it's April 8.   ISDA is asking for  their report on Monday April 7.

Format

Each team or Manageriat should compose a one-pager consisting of bullet points in these areas:

  • Accomplishments in this Quarter
  • Challenges Being Faced
  • Work Expected in Next Quarter

A section of metrics can follow these and can run on to a second page.  There can be a small block of expository text before the accomplishments section, highlighting any particular themes emerging from the bullet points.

Each directorate will also submit up to two pages of metrics with analysis.

Last quarter's submission (FY2008 Q2) as a guide is attached to this page. 
The latest published quarterly reports are always available at http://web.mit.edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/ist/about/reports.html -- here's where to go see what the other directorates say about themselves.Remember that this report is mainly a reporting-upward document within IS&T, namely to ist-vpstaff. 
(Plans to broadly share these reports with the DLC community or MIT Senior Leadership have never materialized.)
