Scenario

Jimmy Saunders is a star freshman on the MIT varsity team. This afternoon, Jimmy came into the training with moderate pain in the back of his knee after getting chop blocked during a football drill. Jimmy has some swelling and pain walking. Richard, the football athletic trainer, tells Jimmy to hop up on a seat and Richard diagnoses the injury. Richard concludes that he strained two muscles that will require three weeks of rehabilitation and physical therapy.

...

Richard's student trainer, Carlos, is in charge of supervising Jimmy through his physical therapy. Carlos has only been a student trainer for four days, and he is quite unfamiliar with the exercises. Luckily, Carlos can use the system to see the exercises and points of emphasis. Carlos becomes comfortable directing Jimmy and correcting his form. Within two weeks and way ahead of schedule, Jimmy is back to 100% healthy and can play football again.

Design Sketches

Individual Sketches - Mitchell Kates - Design 1: The highly customizable design offers the athletic trainer the most flexibility to create a training plan. With the list of exercises on the left sidebar, the athletic trainer can drag and drop exercises into the chart. In the chart, the trainer can modify the number of sets and repetitions for each exercise.

Mitchell Kates - Design 2: The ultra efficient design allows a trainer to have a therapy program by letting the user autosuggest the injury and preselect from several exercise regimens. This allows a trainer to have a therapy program within a handful of keystrokes and one mouse click.

In the first stage, they select the area of the injury. Second, they choose the specific injury and the severity of the injury. Finally, the interface autogenerates the appropriate exercise regimen.
