The LightBoard Studio is a self-service video capture facility for capturing short curricular modules. The LightBoard Studio allows for traditional lecture mechanics (chalkboard lecture) to be captured in a more engaging and informative manner by capturing the lecturer through a sheet of glass. The Studio is configured to facilitate quick capture and rapid distribution of video segments that require minimal post processing, while still providing a high level of production value. I will discuss:
- The background of this technology
- The various implementations on Campus
- Challenges and Solutions - technical and pedagogical
- How it is being used at MIT and who is using it
- What's next?
