Discussion
What is Agile and how does it differ from other approaches to software development? Are there different tools and techniquest that can be used to manage a project using an Agile approach?
Best Practices from the Group
- Agile development has been around for a while under a number of different names. It's a great approach that can help you get your software products out the door quickly
- It is not the silver bullet for all situations: projects requiring regulatory oversight and supporting documentation may do well to follow another approach. Similarly, if your organization experiences a high turn-over rate within your development staff, keeping high-performing Agile teams together will be a challenge.
- Daily communication is a must for the whole team
- The product owner and the PM are responsible for keeping both the development team and the product customers / sponsors informed
