This design is intended to be minimalistic but still give users the basic tools needed to meet their goals.
- The dashboard contains a list of the user's previous writings and has a "new" button to let them begin a new piece.
- The new entry page has space for a title or summary of the work, content entry, and tags to allow other users to find this piece of writing when they perform a search. It also has a timer button to show how much time has elapsed, or how much time is remaining, depending on what mode the user has set the timer to.
- Finally, the final entry page displays the finished piece, with its title, content, tags, and a timestamp. This view is what the user sees when they browse other's works or review their older pieces.
This design addresses the problem of not having enough time or motivation to write. Having a timer allows the user to watch how much time they have been spending on the page and helps them make a decision to come back to the page later rather than spend a significant amount of time not writing. Being able to look at your previous works helps motivate the user by allowing them to see the works that they have written before and appreciate them, while having a search lets users see what other writers are thinking about similar topics.
