Analysis
Learnability
Pros
The simple layout of the homepage with only one big blank text box at the center and one big "scramble" button makes the website very intuitive to learn and use.
The text bubbles that automatically form around the phrases with pop up look have the affordance of being dragged and moved around. Users can quickly learn this
and use it as a way to organize their texts. The "x" at the side of each bubble also have the affordance of deleting the whole phrase in the bubble.
Cons
First time users may not know what happens when they click on "scramble". Although users should be able to learn this quickly after a few usages.
Efficiency
Pros
Text bubbles allow the user to move phrases as a group. This saves a number of steps from the traditional cut and paste method to move a group of texts.
Users can directly edit the quotes and phrases from the scrambled result without having to re-write them.
Cons
'Scramble' is a random function that can generate any kind of phrase combination. The user may need to hit 'scramble' a few times before something
meaningful and inspirational comes up.
If the text is long, it can be inefficient to drag a text bubble from the bottom of the text to the top with scrolling.
Having the drag phrase across the screen can also be inefficient as the user has to make sure the mouse is pressed down for the whole duration of the drag.
Some users may find the text bubbles distracting as they type in the textbox. Sometimes, the text bubble may not include the exact group of words the user
want to be grouped together which may make moving the phrase hard.
Safety
Pros
This site is safe from navigation errors since there is only one page for the user to look at.
If the user accidentally hit on 'scramble', he can 'unscramble' by going back the page history.
Cons
If the user accidentally hit 'scramble' many times in a row and want to go back to the original writing, it could be difficult to find in the page history.
Since 'scramble' is a random function, unexpected phrase combinations may appear after scrambling.
