The Software and Hardward Evaluation Pilot (SWEVAL) is an effort by IS&T to work with our clients in an cost and time effective manner to evaluate potential software and hardware products with the community.

The SWEVAL process map shows the various steps of the process. The process itself is in a pilot implementation and feedback should be sent to jmhunt@mit.edu or left as a comment within the Wiki. The steps in yellow are the ones we are currently evaluating.

We are beginning the process with the Hard Disk Encryption Evaluation pilot. Other applications and hardware will be noted here when we begin then and once we have completed several evaluations we will add an archive.

Our hope is that by utilizing this Wiki we can simplify the process of providing feedback, as well as provide a more interactive community for the evaluators across the community so they can see what their colleagues are saying in real time as they evaluate certain products.
