The members of the Metadata Operations Team (MOT) were charged to review and document the current metadata conventions for digital libraries, and to develop a set of recommended standards and guidelines to govern future metadata creation for the MIT Libraries digital collections. The following pages comprise the working documentation created by the Metadata Operations Team during the Dome Metadata Clean-up Project. The goal of the project was to standardize the use of metadata fields across the heterogeneous collections within DomeMOT during this project.
The project was completed in Spring 2012. Out of the project came both DomeCore and the Dome Metadata Application Profile (DRAFT - awaiting approval).
Many of the changes recommended by MOT were implemented in the Summer of 2012. |
