Insert your disc as outlined in the appropriate part of the Connecting Devices section.
Along the navigation bar at the top of the screen, go to the "Applications" drop down menu.
Go Open BitCurator and go to the “Imaging and Recovery” folder on the BitCurator desktop screen.Click section and click on the Brasero icon.
Click When the program opens, click on the “Disc copy” button.
- A box will pop up, for the disc, select the one you want to image (most likely will already be selected).
Click on the “Properties” button and navigate to the folder where you are storing disk images for the accession. Once in the correct folder, type in the media unique identifier (i.e. the accession number appended with the item number, for instance: 2020_030_001) and append it with “.iso”, for example: “2020_030_001.iso.”
Make sure iso9068 is selected as file type.
Click save.
You can now click on the “Create Image” button.
Brasero will now copy the disc and will say complete when done.
- When complete, if you or a colleague have time to fully process the files through Archivematica within a month, move onto the disk image extraction section (specifically the CCA disk image processor section). If you will need to store the files for a while before doing the complete Archivematica process, move to the preparing for Archivematica section to begin the process of moving the files into Archivematica's Backlog.
