The Metadata Operations Team is an informal task group, with representation from the three areas with responsibility for creating and managing metadata: AMES, IASC, and SCS. The team was formed by the Metadata Coordination Group. While MCG is charged with coordinating the Libraries' metadata efforts at the policy level, MOT's members are all actively engaged in planning, producing, and managing metadata currently used to describe Libraries collections. The group's work includes recommending and documenting procedures, best practices, and standards for use throughout the Libraries.
Due to staff departures MOT has not been active since Fall 2012.
