Remove any antivirus software that may currently be installed on your machine.
Download the appropriate MSI of ESET for your architecture
Double click the MSI file and accept all the default prompts.
Once ESET is installed, right-click on the eye icon in the taskbar and select "Advanced Setup..."
Expand the "Tools" section and select "Remote Administration"
Check the box "Connect to Remote Administration Server"; set the interval to "0"; and enter "eset.mit.edu" as the server address; click "OK"
Your ESET client will now contact our Console and pickup a license

Remove any antivirus software that may currently be installed on your machine
Download the file named "esets_remote_install.pkg.eset-mit.zip" and expand its contents
Move the file files named "esets_remote_install.pkg" and "esets_setup.sh" to your Desktop
Open Terminal.app and run the following command: mv ~/Desktop/esets_setup.sh /tmp
Open Terminal.app and run the following command: sudo installer -pkg ~/Desktop/esets_remote_install.mpkg pkg -target /
ESET will now silently install in the background. When you see the green ESET icon in the menubar, the install has completed (approx. time to complete: 120 seconds)
