Updating your project status

To update the Project Status, click on Update Status from the Project Menu.  The Update Project Status page displays with the current status at the top of the page.  Scroll down to the Update Status section and select values for Timeline, Scope, Budget, and Sponsor Relationship.  In general, Green indicates that there are no issues, Yellow indicates that some attention to that area would benefit the project and Red indicates that immediate action is needed.  You should also update the Project State and Phase and can add supplementary notes.  When you are finished, click on the Save button in the bottom right corner.

Creating a Project

In order to ensure good financial management of our work, new projects within Daptiv PPM must be requested by creating a Project Request.  Once the project request form has been completed and saved, it will be routed to the appropriate group to review based on your Directorate within IS&T.  You will be notified once your project has been reviewed and acted upon.

 Working with Resources

How do I add a resource to PPM so that I can add them to my project?

Resources are people who perform work on projects.  They can come from inside IS&T, from an MIT department, or they can be outside contractors.  To have someone who is not currently in the PPM system added, download and complete the resource request form.
4  Once complete, this should be mailed to the PPM Administrative Team ppm-admin@mit.edu
for action.

What kinds of resources can I request on my project?

Resource types are the basic skills types that each person can bring to a project.  The most frequently used resource types are:

  • Business Analyst
  • Database Administrator
  • Developer
  • Documentation Writer
  • Management
  • Project Manager
