From your Desktop, goto Start -> All Programs -> Accessories and select Remote Desktop Connection as shown below: Image Added
When the Remote Desktop Connection panel is displayed, click on Show Options.. Image Added
Click on the Experience tab. Image Added
From the drop down list, select WAN (10Mbps or higher with high latency). Image Added
Verify that all the check boxes are checked. When you are satisfied that everything is correct, Click on the General tab. Image Added
Enter the name of the Computer: and the User name: as shown below:

For Education Systems VM's, the computer name will always be of the form esvm-XXX.mit.edu where XXX is a 3 digit number.
The user name will always be esuser.
When you are satisfied that everything is correct, click the Connect button. Image Added
Finally, the esuser password is initially set to changeme. The first task the you must do when you first log into you VM is to CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD.
