Problem Statement
Volunteer: Finding volunteer Getting involved in community service is difficult both for volunteers and the organizations that need the service assistance. For volunteers, finding opportunities that suit my their interests and time constraints is difficult. The only current resources I have to find community service is fliers and email listings. To find one opportunity I am interested in, I have to go through tens of others that don’t align with my interests.Organization: Finding people who are interested in the community service activities is difficult. It is difficult to promote my event. Frequently, the volunteers don’t realize the time commitment either. If the volunteers don’t enjoy the activity, then the people they are helping won’t appreciate the experience, either.a cumbersome process. There is not a well structured and centralized resource to help them find out what opportunities are available. Unless the volunteer is already aware of the service he/she wants to participate in, he/she is forced to sift through flyers and mass e-mail listings to see if there is an organization he/she would like to get involved with. For organizations, promoting events and targeting the right volunteer audience is often difficult.
