The Course III curriculum has always had a hands-on emphasis. In the most recent undergraduate curriculum revision, labs are integrated with lecture subjects. Some Course III subjects have achieved an almost iconic status, such as 3.091 and 3.042. In the twenty-first century, DMSE is embracing the use of new technologies in academic subjects.
