Problem Statement: It is common for someone to desire company in carrying out a task or activity, and more likely than not, there is someone else nearby who would be a willing participant.  The only way to find this other person is to guess who will be interested and try to contact them manually (via text message, email, phone call, etc.) This leads to people not being able to do an activity they want to do because they have trouble finding friends to do it with or they end up doing activities with the same people who are always conveniently around them. An application that facilitates finding matches between people who want to do the same activity can help users plan, coordinate, and confirm group activities.  FriendTrain can improve upon this solution by allowing users to indicate their preferred activity, and then notifying users of matches so they can contact each other and do activities together.
