GR1 - Task analysis

Bookmarks are locally stored and linked to the browser. They are accessed through a menu in the user’s browser and classified in different folders. Bookmarks are represented with lines of strings and small icons, which make them inefficient and uninformative.

Problem:

• users can’t access these bookmarks on other computers or other browsers
• users can’t navigate their bookmarks efficiently
• users can’t get enough information about the website content from the bookmarks

Solution we propose:* making a web application that allows the user store their bookmarks on the Internet. 

• have the bookmarks be searchable and more easily clickable. 
• have the bookmarks give a scent (maybe an image) of where the bookmark leads

MyWeb will help people with a lot of bookmarks to organize them, enable access to your favorite and important websites anytime anywhere and encourage more people to use bookmarks features by increasing usability of its interface.

We identify 3 main user classes for MyWeb and summarize their characteristics and needs using personas.
