- Boston Chapter of the IEEE Computer Society (IEEE/CS): This is the Boston chapter of an international professional society. The Society is dedicated to advancing the theory, practice, and application of computer and information processing technology. One evening a month, it provides lectures on computer-related topics. These are open to the public and free. (A number of them are held on the MIT campus.)

- The Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium: Focused on the interoperable exchange of calendaring and scheduling information between dissimilar programs, platforms, and technologies. The Consortium's mission is to promote general understanding of and provide mechanisms to allow interoperable calendaring and scheduling methodologies, tools and applications to enter the mainstream of computing.
