MIT is and has been seen as a leader in many domains, and IS&T, in particular, is a leader in the IT community through the work of its staff in a wide variety of national and international organizations. The following lists the many organizations in which IS&T staff have held leadership positions in furthering MIT's mission.

2008 Activities

  • Boston Consortium:  IT/Libraries Communications and Outreach Group -- Christine Fitzerald continued to work with facilitator at the Consortium to host meetings in March and June 2008. 
  • Learning Tree International: Steve Winig participated in the development and review of Learning Tree International's new class entitled Relationship Management for IT Professionals.  http://www.learningtree.com/courses/902.htmImage Removed.
  • Relationship/Account Management Community of Practice: Steve Winig continued as the chair of this group of leaders of Relationship Management and Account Management programs within both university and industry environments.

2007 Activities

  •  Boston Consortium:  Christine Fitzgerald founded the IT/Libraries Communications and Outreach Group in collaboration with the Consortium and colleagues from Brandeis and Boston College.  Group launched with 1st meeting November 2007.
  • The Common Solutions Group: A group composed of senior technologists and managers from 25 major research universities dedicated to developing common solutions for problems/challenges facing their institutions. IS&T Contributors and contribution:
    • MIT will host the meeting in September, 2007.
    • Paul Hill and Jerry Grochow represent MIT on a regular basis.
