Conservation assistance required

Use in situations where conservation assistance is necessary to provide access to collections materials, e.g. moldy collections that need to be viewed in the fume hood. Do not use this access restriction type for materials that have been treated by conservation and are stable for use, or for materials with conservation issues that do not require mediation, e.g. brittle paper. Conservation issues that should be noted but do not require mediation can be added to the the Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements note.

Donor imposed access restriction

Use in situations where the donor has specified restrictions on an entire collection or portions of a collection in their deed of gift, e.g. if a collection is closed until their death.
