MIT Haystack is 40 miles northeast of the MIT campus (Cambridge). It is situated on the hills called Millstone Hill and Haystack and surrounded by the woods near the town border for Westford and Groton, Massacusetts, which are immediately next to New Hampshire. Beautiful fall foliage is typical along the access road to Haystack/Millstone. It is also pretty isolated from public transportation, so having a rental car seems necessary. Other than a rental car, there are airport shuttle available as well:
- Flight Line tel. 1-800-245-2525 (shared ride)
From Boston airport:
$67 for 1–3 people; $85 for 4 people; $100 for 5 people
From Manchester airport:

- C & L Air Limo tel. 1-800-247-7080; 978-692-9303

- Haystack doesn't have cafeteria or immediate access to restaurants. so we decided to order as a group some food for lunch. We will serve all 4 lunches (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).
On Wednesday evening, we will invite everybody for dinner along with our Buonsanto Lecture Speaker (Dr. Mark Moldwin). Therefore we will charge $100 each person to offset the partial costs. Credit card machine will be used to collect your contribution. If for some reason you cannot reimburse the costs, please let us know; we will manage to wavier your contribution.
