There are some differences between the old process of storing files on the W drive and storing files in e-Builder. By design, e-Builder protects information by limiting  access to documents only to those who are part of the project, or to those with an e-Builder administrative roleThe "W" drive served two purposes, it was a storage repository for all project documents as well as an archive of all project documentation for multiple years. e-Builder is a construction management application for which the key architectural element is the project. When working in e-Builder you are part of a project team, or multiple project teams, and your access to information is for one or more designated projects. The application is designed to restrict access e-Buuilderto information when you are not part of a project or are part of the project but not in a specific role.

e-Builder is not a document archive tool. You will not be able to search at a future time for all documents and information , across all projects, that meet a specific search criteria. A separate approach for document archives with appropriate access will need to be undertaken.
